About the role
Role Summary
Title: Principal Engineer (SFIA6)

Reports to: Delivery Lead

Why we need this role
This role is required to support Gemba’s service delivery.
Role Details
This role requires DV Clearance.
The principal engineer is responsible for carrying out the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Support client systems:
Develop and support client systems by providing data engineering, development, and operations services.
Develop and support ingest ETL pipelines
Support and develop accumulo-based query system
Develop and support real-time health monitoring systems for originating data sources
Carry out DevOps services on these systems
Develop and support CI/CD pipelines
Carry out operational support activities
Engineering Research:
Provide ad-hoc engineering research as and when required to inform architectural and technology decisions. .
Ways of working:
Work with other supplier teams who provide infrastructure support services to help maintain suitable service levels. This work includes but is not limited to requirements and delivery planning, post mortems and bug analysis.
Maintaining a strong understanding of user needs through close engagement with representative users of the systems we support.
Contribute to collaborative efforts with other organisations as and when directed by the client.
Give technical input and estimation into the quarterly planning process.
